Our Placer Ranch 1B project for Taylor Builders involves a massive active treatment system including 18 storage tanks and a 6.2 million gallon pretreatment and holding basin. Since November we’ve discharged over 11 million gallons of stormwater off site with an average turbidity of just 2.4 NTUs.

Yesterday we donated our space to @calwaterfowl to build 150 boxes for their Wood Duck Program. Wood ducks prefer to nest in trees, but have had to adapt to a changing habitat. Conservation efforts help stabilize their population and these wood boxes have provided safe alternatives for nesting.

CWA is currently celebrating a milestone of 1 million wood ducklings being hatched out of the program. Congratulations, we love to see it! 🦆

Within hours teams were mobilized, traffic was controlled, and pumps were brought in to start redirecting water. Our teams have been working around the clock ever since. The Pacific Flyway is a ten thousand-mile long migratory superhighway traveled by millions of birds each year. The marshlands along this route provide essential stopovers and their conservation is crucial for many species. The Pacific Flyway Center, which will sit at the edge of Suisun Marsh will be a home for education, connecting the public to 124 acres of trails and fostering an appreciation for the wetlands with interactive programming.
